Communities in BC must complete an interim Housing Needs Report (HNR) for the province by January 1, 2025, following provincial guidelines.
Introducing the BC HNR Calculator
Our calculator has automated the overwhelming majority of provincial requirements for the interim HNR, meaning communities in BC can focus on providing meaningful insight into their communities, not on procedural numbers and calculations.
HART has been funded by CMHC to support communities with HNRs for funding programs, and this calculator was produced with a portion of this funding. Disclaimer: This tool is not intended to provide a province-wide calculation of housing need, as it does not include housing needs on Indigenous lands and may exclude other considerations or areas.
*Update July 18, 2024: there was a small coding error in regional projections which has been fixed to reflect the most recent projections from BC Stats.
