Module 1: Understanding Canada’s Housing Crisis (30 minutes)

Explore who is most affected by the housing crisis—from Indigenous communities to newcomers to single parents. You’ll learn key housing terminology and understand what each level of government can (and can’t) do about housing.

Module 2: Why HART? (20 minutes)

Discover how HART’s free tools help communities measure housing needs with real data. Learn what makes these tools unique and where they work best.

Module 3: Crafting a Housing Needs Assessment (45 minutes)

Get hands-on with the Housing Needs Assessment (HNA) tool. Learn how to navigate the data, run assessments for your community, and interpret the results.

Module 4: Create Land Assessment and Property Acquisition Strategies (30 minutes)

Learn how to identify publicly owned land that could be used for housing and start an acquisitions program.

Module 5: Implement Your Housing Strategy (30 minutes)
